Groups and Interviews
Maya Group has built a strong reputation moderating focus groups and conducting interviews of all types. From recruitment to final analysis, we know how to get to the information our clients are seeking.
In-Person Focus Groups and Mini-Groups
There are times when face-to-face interaction is critical. Facial expressions and gestures like nods speak volumes and provide a visual cue to what people are really feeling. Maya Group has conducted countless focus groups all over the world.
In-Depth Interviews (IDIs) — One-on-Ones, Dyads and Triads
A more personal and individualized research methodology often leads to a deeper understanding of perceptions, attitudes, beliefs and opinions. One-one-one interviews or groups of just two or three participants can provide more intimacy and result in less influence by others.
TeleWeb Sessions (conducted via telephone and Web)
Maya Group TeleWeb sessions are an efficient and cost-effective alternative to traditional focus groups and interviews. Your target audience members are invited to participate via telephone. Stimulus materials (messaging statements, product names, print ads, TV spots, product concepts, etc.) are posted to a secure, password-protected Web site and accessible only to session participants during the call. Client listeners “observe” the TeleWeb session much like they would from behind a one-way mirror, although they are not physically required to be in any one particular place. A virtual whiteboard lets us record and capture group activities, such as developing a list of wants and needs. Real-time polling enables us to pose close-ended questions and capture data that can be used to enrich the discussion. Instant chat provides seamless communication between client and moderator.
Telephone Groups and Interviews
When no stimulus is required, focus groups and interviews conducted via phone can be another very effective way to gather data.
Enabling Techniques
When you want to take a more creative approach and potentially reveal deeper feelings, wants and needs, we recommend using projective, activity-based techniques during your in-person focus group sessions. This is often ideal for the earlier stages of product or service development.
Usability Studies
In a usability lab or in situ, we can observe firsthand how users behave as they interact with products, services or Web sites.
